Nerd Alert!

So I informed Katy that I was going to come down to the Provo-land and entertain her with puppet shows and balloon animals and a clown and a cotton candy machine and pony rides since she's hobbling around after her ACL, MCL, and a bunch of other _-_-L surgery (you can see awesomely disgusting picture of it on her blog).

But Katy had a better idea--to play a new, nerdy card game, which was a relief given I don't own puppets or know how to make balloon animals and clowns freak me out and Katy doesn't eat sugar and ponies would make messes that I don't want to pick up. And really I didn't have any better ideas.

So Matt and Russ also came over to play this new, nerdy game. And at first, I was worried because I didn't bring my cloak or dagger and I hadn't thought of a new fantasy name. But luckily, the voices only came out when Russ played the "Pirate Island" or "Sea Hag" card.

Enter Dominion. Or what I call DOMINATION! Because I totally did not dominate that game last night. But I did beat Matt.

Just imagine 2 more boxes of cards.

So yes, that game description on the web site makes it sound as nerdy awesome as it really is. And Katy being the person that she is has purchased EVERY expansion pack available. I now wish I had snapped a picture of the set-up for this game. And nerds being nerds have even developed an app that provides you with new configurations for the cards, so you at least don't have to think about that. Whew.

It's probably a good thing that Provo-land is 50 miles away because that gives me plenty of time to conjure up my fantasy name*. Unfortunately, 100 miles round-trip means that I also don't get to see Katy as frequently, which is really quite a shame.**

*The game really doesn't require fantasy names. Cross my heart.
**And I still think it's insane that I have friends who commute those 100 miles every. single. day.

I love that game. I bought it for the husband for Christmas. During our game play he has only beat me once. I like it better than Settlers.

You loved it and I knew you would. It'll only be a matter of time before you ask to come play again. Thanks for your help. I'm glad I'm wearing this green shirt right now.
