Attending Foster's wedding was the real intent of the get-together in St. George this weekend, but there also happened to be a little bit of hiking in Snow Canyon (my first time there!) and a whole lot of junk food eating and TV watching and lounging and kid wrangling.
The gorging precedent was set with our maiden voyage to Veyo Pies in Veyo. Never heard of Veyo? Yeah, neither had I, but I have to admit that the raspberry zing pie that we purchased made it worth the trip. The fat kids within us were squealing with glee when we saw all of the pies in that case.
While the pie was a big hit with us, Morgan was mesmerized by his barking echo and the bat sounds coming from a crack in a ledge in Snow Canyon. The inscribed names on the red rock by pioneers were also pretty cool.
There is a noticeable lack of picture-taking on my part once Emily arrived in town--as in I didn't take a single picture. But Foster's wedding reception was lovely--as was the bride.
I returned to reality on Monday, driving directly from St. George to a meeting. I couldn't have timed the drive more perfectly, pulling into the parking lot with 2 minutes to spare.
I fell asleep at 10pm last night (a very early night for me). I think it's a sign that I had a pretty great weekend.
